I Visited Three Festivals in Southeast Tennessee
Nothing shows a city’s soul faster than its hometown festivals. In my latest YouTube episode I spent 24 hours hopping three spring events that stitch together the Chattanooga metro: Crabtree Farms’ Spring Plant Sale, Ooltewah’s Strawberry Festival, and Cleveland’s Hot Slaw & Art Y’all. 1️⃣ Crabtree Farms Spring Plant Sale — Midtown Chattanooga

2️⃣ Smith-Perry Berries Strawberry Festival — Ooltewah
Cambridge Square overflows with sun-hatted toddlers, live music, and truckloads of ruby-red berries. My highlight? Strawberry-glazed donuts from Tasty Donut—worth every sugary regret.
Real-estate insight: More than half of current listings in Ooltewah, Apison, and Collegedale are brand-new construction. Think open layouts, high ceilings, and modern finishes plus Hamilton County’s strong schools. You’ll pay less per square foot than closer-in Chattanooga neighborhoods yet stay 25–30 minutes from downtown.
3️⃣ Hot Slaw & Art Y’all — Downtown Cleveland
Only Cleveland celebrates its bright-yellow, mustard-tangy Hot Slaw with a city-wide street party: chalk murals, three music stages, and 10 k locals dancing between food trucks. Hearing The Warman Trio harmonize while a little boy spun in the square reminded me why people uproot for Tennessee: moments that feel like home the minute you arrive.
Real-estate insight: Cleveland remains a value play for relocation buyers—historic downtown lofts plus roomy ranches on the edge of town. Lower property taxes and a renaissance of cafés and antique shops make it more than a “cheaper option”—it’s a place to belong.
